Jonathan said, 'My school was 20 Km away, so I had faraway classmates.

My mother ran a cable tv business from home.

Surrounded by dishes, cables and amplifiers - my closest friends were the workers around.

Mother treated them with utmost respect. I learnt equality from her.

Surrounded by doers, I had no fear of dirtying my hands and tinkering.

In school - I passed exams mainly by paying attention to teachers in class.

I stayed an average student. Immature, I was yet to learn to give my best to whatever I do.

Engineer seemed logical - given my hands-on approach.

I did not get the engineering admission of my choice in the 1st try.

So, I was attending entrance coaching after taking a gap year.

A friend, who was already in a design school, summoned my help, because we had a Bolero at the time.

His team - at Srishti - wanted to go buy PVC pipes and some electronics and cart them back.

They were making a sound sculpture, one that created music by interacting with wind.

The practical learning of material, sound, electronics, physics and aesthetics by creating a sculpture - caught hold of me!

It would not let me go. I wanted to get into Design.

I dropped engineering plans and started creating my design portfolio.

I had finally found, what I wanted to do.

This passion opened a new door for me. Whatever, I would do henceforth, I would strive to give it my best.

Four and a half years later, I was a product and interface designer from Srishti.

Following in my mother's footsteps, I went entrepreneur.

All this while, I had an active Christian belief, I would have many private conversations with Him.

I have always believed in the divine being directly accessible to any of us.

All we need to do is, to talk. And yes, a little discernment and acting on what we hear, makes the voice grow stronger.

I keep finding - to my delight - He sends abundant help, whenever I fall flat on my face.

The problem with this is that then - I do not make long term plans.

So I walk into soups.

Uncollected payments. Broken promises.

Then He sends me, soup spoons :)

A chance to do AR and VR work, when I did not have work. That - no one else was doing it - was to my delight.

Entrepreneurs need to find work to survive.

I learnt social media marketing and website development at a mobile gaming company.

Creating new Apps. Making films.

My engineering, technical and needed education all happened by doing. Never by prior preparation.

Yet, it worked for me.

After Covid, I shut my own shop and got into a job. Creative on multiple fronts - goes without saying :)

Every day, I have fun. Some places I fall. Who cares?

When the main thing is kept the main thing, everything else falls in line.
