Read Krusha's story to find your purpose.
When I was still in school, I ruled out Physics and Chemistry almost right away. I did not like them. Ugh!!
I loved studying but also doing many things. Dance, debate, house captaincy.
It taught me to explore. You can do Neti only if you explore.
If science was Neti, then commerce was my next bet. So CA, it was.
On my CA journey - as I sat writing my 3rd paper in CA- IPCC, I stopped writing mid-way. It was a Neti moment.
CA was not for me.
I did finish the paper that day - even cleared it - but was on the explore again.
Just Dial - your 'local search' for businesses was just taking root in Mumbai. On a whim, I checked out wedding planners nearby. Maybe I could be one too.
I called one up; they called me for an interview.
My ability to talk easily helped. 19-year-old me, got the job!
I now worked for an event management company. There was glamour in organising events, including some for celebrities.
I took a month of it. Then decided, 'No More'. I am a morning person and the late nights mess with me. I value discipline and schedule.
In the same building, they had a sister company that did PR. I bumped into the leader of the entertainment division and we got chatting.
She said I could come and try out PR for a month, if I was thinking of quitting.
I did. I ended up staying for 2+ years.
She was my first professional role model. She taught me professionalism 101. Thanks!
For a while, it was my dream job. I was handling music concerts.
Then I began to ask myself, what next? I could not do this for the rest of my life.
After some thought, I decided to try Social Media.
I knew the routine :). I searched, and I interviewed. A social media job ensued.
6 months and a promotion around the corner - I was doing very well.
They were offering more but I stepped out. I knew this was not going to cut it for me either.
Events - Neti. PR - Neti. Social media - Neti.
I took a break. I wanted to study abroad. Luckily, I had the privilege of doing that.
I went to Singapore and took up international business. My cohort from around the world taught me a lot. Great exposure too!
With 6 months of the program remaining, I wondered, what next?
I loved France and wanted more. I did not know French then.
Because I was relentless in my search - I found Sociabble.
After 5 rounds of interviews, I was an employee. They hired me for sales on a 6 month contract.
3 months in Paris later, I knew I wanted to be in India, closer to family. I persuaded Sociabble to let me start operations in India.
I came to India and started Sociabble here.
It has had its ups and downs, but it is now 6 years. I have helped create the Indian market for employee advocacy and internal communication.
Today, as I do this - I am also a coach, a writer, an author, an advocate for women at work, and most of all, a student.
I found my purpose, doing Neti Neti.
